Sutton Cricket Club is an active club running two senior Saturday teams in the north east of Cambridgeshire, We have been playing cricket here in Sutton since 1890. Our President hasn?t quite been playing since then (despite persistent rumours to the contrary) There are however families in the village whose names occur on some of the early photographs in our pavilion We have a lovely ground here in Sutton, alongside Station Road. It is surrounded by hedges and trees, with a splendid view up to St Andrew?s church. The outfield is distinguished by remnants of the pre enclosure Ridge and Furrow system, (making for interesting fielding challenges at times). We also have one of the very few remaining mature Elm trees left in the village, an old pollarded tree, probably close to 200 years old. Do come down on a Saturday afternoon from early May and support your local club.
